Reality television personality Emma Hernan is significantly expanding her food business ventures. Hernan, known from the Netflix series "Selling Sunset," has acquired a substantial 28,000-square-foot frozen food manufacturing facility located in Hingham. The purchase price for this expansive facility was $4.6 million.
The newly acquired Hingham plant will be dedicated to producing various frozen food items. These will include seafood specialties such as crab cakes and shrimp spring rolls for Hernan's own food brand, Coast to Coast. This brand made its national debut exclusively through Target stores in February.
Additionally, the factory will produce goods for other family-owned brands, notably Yankee Trader Seafood, which has a long-standing presence on the South Shore. The facility is projected to create approximately 50 employment opportunities and is scheduled to commence operations in July.
The Hernan family already maintains a significant operational footprint in the region. They currently operate a 32,000-square-foot facility also in Hingham, which employs around 100 individuals, and another factory situated in Pembroke. Yankee Trader Seafood was founded by Hernan's maternal grandfather, Gerry McAdams.
