RailTel Corporation of India has been awarded a substantial work order amounting to Rs 35.54 crore by the North Central Railway (NCR). The contract specifically entails the provision of MSDAC (Multi-Signal Distribution and Control) systems and other related infrastructural improvements. These works include necessary indoor alterations within various station types, such as EI/RRI/PI stations, located in the Prayagraj Division of NCR.
The execution of this project is expected to span 24 months from the date RailTel receives its letter of acceptance. The company has projected the completion of all associated tasks by February 17, 2028. This contract is considered a domestic award, with no involvement from RailTel's promoters or promoter group in the awarding entity, ensuring a clear transaction.
Established in 2000, RailTel's core mission involves developing a nationwide network for broadband, VPN, telecom, and multimedia services. Its primary objective is to modernize the operational and safety systems integral to Indian Railways. Despite the new contract, the company's recent financial performance showed a slight decrease in net profit for Q3 FY26 compared to the previous year, though revenue from operations saw a notable increase.
