PVR INOX, the nation's premier multiplex operator, announced a significant financial recovery in the fourth quarter of FY26. The company achieved a consolidated net profit of Rs 186.7 crore, a substantial improvement from a net loss of Rs 125 crore in the same period of FY25.
This impressive performance was largely attributed to record-breaking box office collections during the quarter. Films such as Dhurandhar - The Revenge, Border 2, and Project Hail Mary drew audiences back to the theatres. The success indicates a strong post-pandemic demand for compelling content.
Admissions grew by 2% year-on-year to 31 million, with average ticket prices rising sharply by 22% to Rs 315. Spending on food and beverages also saw a significant 32% increase, reaching Rs 165 per head. This growth highlights consumers' willingness to pay premium prices for cinema experiences.
EBITDA for the quarter rose by 56.1% to Rs 452 crore, with EBITDA margins improving to 29.2%. The company noted growth across all business segments, including a 27% rise in ticket sales and a 33% increase in food and beverage sales. Advertising income also contributed with a 15% growth.
For the entirety of FY26, PVR INOX reported its highest-ever revenue, EBITDA, and net profit. The company also managed to reduce its net debt to a negligible level. A total of 150 million patrons visited its properties throughout the year, with record-high average ticket prices and food and beverage spending per patron.
