Camping Stoves Explode, Helmets Fail Safety Tests

Two product recalls involving significant safety risks have been announced, impacting consumers who purchased items from major retailers like Walmart and Amazon. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued notices for a tabletop camping stove and children's helmets, highlighting potential dangers.

Approximately 201,000 Ozark Trail tabletop camping stoves are recalled because they can explode or catch fire, posing burn and fire hazards. The manufacturer has received 26 reports of these incidents, with 16 resulting in injuries such as second-degree burns. Consumers are urged to cease using the stoves immediately and return them for a refund.

A separate recall affects about 24,300 children's helmets sold on Amazon.com and Walmart.com. These helmets do not comply with safety requirements and could fail to protect users in a crash, risking serious head injuries. While no injuries have been reported yet, consumers should stop using these helmets and contact the manufacturer for a refund.
