Pinnacle Financial Partners has reported a strong second quarter of 2026, exceeding expectations for earnings and balance sheet growth. The bank's leadership highlighted that operations are on track with the full-year financial projections, even as integration from a recent combination continues.
President and CEO Kevin Blair stated that diluted earnings per share reached $2.07, with adjusted diluted EPS at $2.50, marking a 26% increase year-to-date. This performance is bolstered by substantial growth in loans, deposits, fee income, and hiring, reinforcing management's conviction in their outlook.
Loan portfolios expanded by $2.9 billion from the previous quarter, surpassing internal targets, with commercial and industrial lending leading the surge. Deposits also increased by $795 million, demonstrating resilience against seasonal pressures, and core deposits grew by 1% in the quarter.
Net interest income rose by 2% compared to the first quarter, driven by a 4% increase in earning assets. However, the net interest margin experienced a slight compression of 9 basis points, influenced by lower SOFR rates and increased funding costs associated with seasonal deposit trends.
