8 Apr
Summary
- PIMCO in talks for $14 billion debt financing for Oracle data center.
- The proposed financing is for an Oracle data center in Michigan.
- Oracle is ramping up investments for AI and cloud services demand.

Pacific Investment Management Co. (PIMCO) is currently in negotiations to provide around $14 billion in debt financing for Oracle's data center project located in Michigan. This potential deal, reported on Tuesday, could establish PIMCO as a crucial financial partner for the Oracle campus in Saline Township.
The financing is reportedly being considered in a 144A format, which involves private placement of bonds to institutional investors, rather than a public offering. Oracle has stated that it is making "rapid progress" on the Saline Township data center, confirming the project is on schedule.
This development occurs as Oracle faces scrutiny over its artificial intelligence infrastructure build-out and increasing debt. The company previously announced plans to raise up to $50 billion this year through various financing methods to support its growing AI and cloud service demands. Oracle also recently appointed Hilary Maxson as its new chief financial officer, bringing executive experience in infrastructure and energy to the role.
