PhysicsX, a British startup, has successfully raised $300 million, bringing its valuation to roughly $2.4 billion. This funding round was led by Singapore's Temasek, with participation from new investors Intrepid Growth Partners and M&G Catalyst, as well as existing backers like Nvidia Corp.
The company specializes in developing artificial intelligence models for manufacturing complex components, such as those found in jet engines and semiconductors. PhysicsX provides software that enhances the design, testing, and assembly processes for aerospace and automotive firms. Its AI model simulates the behavior of physical objects, offering a faster alternative to traditional engineering simulation software.
CEO Jacomo Corbo highlighted the growing demand, noting a six-month backlog and the need to expand staff. He anticipates revenue to approach $50 million this year, with plans to more than double that figure by 2027. The semiconductor sector is rapidly becoming a primary focus and is expected to constitute the company's largest segment by the end of the second quarter.
