Power Finance Corporation (PFC) announced the completion of its sale of Saswad Transmission Ltd to Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Ltd on February 26, 2026. The transaction value for this special purpose vehicle (SPV) was ₹3.79 crore. Saswad Transmission was established to develop a 400/220 kV substation in Saswad, Pune district, Maharashtra.
PFC clarified that the SPV's financial contribution to the company's turnover and net worth was minimal in the previous financial year. The sale was conducted according to Ministry of Power guidelines and does not represent a related party transaction.
Following the announcement on February 27, 2026, PFC's shares saw a 2% decline, closing at ₹412.20, despite a 13.98% gain over the preceding month. The company's stock experienced a temporary dip after the news of the divestment.
