PEI Summer Transit Boosts Cavendish Access
23 Jun
Summary
- T3 Transit increases summer service to PEI's North Shore.
- Two new runs added, including a late-night option.
- Service aims to attract workers and students to Cavendish.

Transit service to Cavendish and Prince Edward Island's North Shore is set to resume on Tuesday, with T3 Transit implementing two additional daily runs for the summer season. This expansion brings the total to seven trips between Charlottetown and Cavendish, and two for Summerside.
The new midday departure from Charlottetown and a 10:15 p.m. run from Cavendish to the capital city are direct responses to feedback from local businesses and tourism associations. These enhancements aim to help businesses attract and retain a workforce by offering better commuting options from Charlottetown and Summerside.
Matthew Cassidy, president of T3 Transit, highlighted the significance of the late-night service for employees in businesses with extended hours. He also noted the service's past success in connecting students to summer employment in the Cavendish area.
The transit service, which began as a pilot project in 2022 and recorded nearly 11,000 one-way trips in its last full year, requires advance seat reservations for its rural routes. The summer schedule will operate until September 7th.
