Bihar's capital, Patna, is slated for a significant urban infrastructure upgrade, including the establishment of a World Trade Centre. This initiative, announced by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, is part of a comprehensive redevelopment plan for government land parcels across the city. The National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) presented proposals for sites on Nehru Path, Gardanibagh, Bhootnath Road, and Boring Canal Road.
These planned projects are valued at approximately Rs 4,000 crore, with an anticipated revenue generation of Rs 8,000 crore. The redevelopment will involve replacing old government buildings with new constructions, adhering to modern technological and environmental standards, and implementing a zero-waste model. Similar integrated development plans are being considered for Gaya, Bhagalpur, Begusarai, and Darbhanga.
Further plans include the development of townships covering nearly 2,000 acres in the proposed Pataliputra Township and an additional 1,000 acres elsewhere. The government is prioritizing projects that will elevate Patna to world-class status, marking a significant step in optimizing public assets and urban infrastructure.
