28 Oct
Summary
- Paramount leases 285,000 sq ft at 1888 Studios in Bayonne, NJ
- New Jersey offers up to 40% tax credits for film productions
- Netflix also has a 500,000 sq ft facility in Fort Monmouth, NJ

As of October 29, 2025, Paramount has made a major move to expand its East Coast production capabilities. The company has signed a 10-year lease to occupy 285,000 square feet of studio space at the 1888 Studios complex in Bayonne, New Jersey. This massive 1.6 million square foot film and TV production campus is set to be the largest such facility in the Northeast.
Paramount's decision to establish a significant presence in New Jersey comes as the state has become an increasingly attractive destination for film and television productions. In 2018, New Jersey approved a tax credit program that offers productions up to 40% in tax credits, making it one of the most competitive incentive programs in the country. The 1888 Studios complex was recently designated as one of New Jersey's first Film-Lease Partner Facilities, meaning any tenants there will have access to these lucrative tax credits.
This latest development follows Netflix's decision last year to break ground on a 500,000 square foot production facility in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, representing a $1 billion investment. Additionally, Lionsgate has also secured a lease for a 270,000 square foot campus in Newark. With these major studios establishing a foothold in the state, New Jersey is solidifying its reputation as a growing East Coast hub for the entertainment industry.
