5 Jun
Summary
- Restoration of a Grade II* listed pub to be part of Phase One.
- New science labs, cinema, and bowling alley planned for the complex.
- The regeneration project is set to create at least 1,700 jobs.

The regeneration of Oxford's Ozone Leisure Park is moving forward with resubmitted plans by Pioneer Group and Firoka Group. The first phase will see the restoration of the Grade II* listed Minchery Farmhouse pub, which has been closed for 13 years and is on Historic England's Heritage at Risk Register. This iconic building will be transformed into a high-quality pub and social venue, serving as a focal point for the development. Additionally, Phase One will introduce a dedicated leisure building.
The broader development for the Grenoble Road site includes a five or six-screen cinema, a bowling alley, and new science laboratories for the life science sector. These plans address previous criticisms regarding the demolition of existing facilities. The project aims to ensure the long-term sustainability of the park, reinvesting in the site as tenancies expire.
This comprehensive regeneration is projected to create at least 1,700 jobs within Oxford. The development will also feature new cafes, restaurants, shops, a central square for events, enhanced cycle parking, and bus stop improvements. Further investment will support the Cowley Branch Line, and 3.2 acres of new public open space will be established with the planting of 231 new trees.
