Noida International Airport (NIA) is poised to commence operations, projecting an initial annual passenger traffic of 6 to 8 million within its first full year. Phase 1 of the airport is designed for a capacity of 12 million passengers, with ambitious plans to expand to 30 million annually by 2030 and eventually 70 million by 2050. It will feature a fully digital travel journey, incorporating self-bag drops, self-boarding gates, and DigiYatra biometric-enabled processing at every gate for swift and secure travel. Connectivity options will include taxis, buses, intercity coaches, and future links via high-speed rail and metro corridors, ensuring comprehensive last-mile access.
NIA is designed to strengthen India's aviation infrastructure, positioning cities like Delhi-Noida, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Mumbai as potential global aviation hubs by 2030. The airport is also developing a Multi-Modal Cargo Hub with a phase 1 capacity of 200,000 metric tons annually, scaling up significantly. Environmental sustainability is a core focus, with a net-zero emissions philosophy incorporating rainwater harvesting, solar power, and waste management.
