19 Feb
Summary
- Nissan recalls 642,698 Rogue SUVs in the U.S. due to separate issues.
- Recalls address broken throttle body gears and damaged engine bearings.
- Potential for loss of drive power, fire risk due to hot oil discharge.

Nissan is initiating two significant recalls affecting 642,698 Rogue SUVs in the United States. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that these recalls are due to distinct problems that could lead to a loss of driving power.
The first recall involves 318,781 Rogue SUVs, with the identified issue being broken throttle body gears. This component is critical for engine performance and throttle response.
Separately, Nissan is recalling an additional 323,917 Rogue SUVs. This second recall is due to damaged engine bearings. Such damage could result in hot oil being discharged, increasing the risk of an engine fire and also leading to a loss of drive power.
As a remedy for both recalls, dealers are instructed to reprogram the engine-control software. If necessary, affected components will also be replaced to ensure the vehicles are safe for operation.
