Nike Inks Landmark Recycled Polyester Deal with Loop Industries
14 Nov
Summary
- Nike to receive Loop's circular polyester resin made from textile waste
- Twist resin to reduce virgin and recycled flake polyester in Nike products
- Infinite Loop India facility to deliver 81% lower greenhouse gas emissions

On November 14, 2025, Nike announced a landmark multi-year offtake agreement with Loop Industries to receive the company's Twist circular polyester resin produced exclusively from textile waste. This partnership marks a significant step forward in Nike's efforts to transform textile waste into high-performance materials.
The Twist resin will enable Nike to reduce the use of both virgin and recycled flake polyester within its product range, moving the brand closer to its sustainability goals. Loop introduced the Twist resin in August 2025, designed to deliver high purity, consistent color, and enhanced production efficiency for seamless integration with existing spinning and manufacturing systems.
Furthermore, the agreement establishes Nike as the "anchor customer" for Loop's Infinite Loop India manufacturing facility, which is expected to deliver greenhouse gas emissions that are 81% lower than those associated with conventional fossil fuel-based polyester production. This facility, along with Loop's Terrebonne site, will be used to increase Twist production and support Nike's circular fashion initiatives.
"This partnership exemplifies our commitment to scaling sustainable solutions that deliver both environmental impact and product excellence," said Nike's materials supply chain VP, Sitora Muzafarova.
