Crews have begun site preparation in southwest Rochester for a new 6,800-square-foot Allied Veterinary Emergency & Referral clinic, scheduled to open by Memorial Day 2027. The facility, located at 4612 Commercial Drive SW, will provide 24-hour emergency and referral services for critically ill or injured pets.
The clinic, founded by Dr. Kara Nelsen, will feature five exam rooms, two surgical suites, a CT scanner, and an animal intensive care unit. It is planned to be staffed by 30 to 35 professionals, offering advanced care comparable to human healthcare standards.
Allied Veterinary purchased the 2.46-acre site for $935,000 in May 2025. The clinic aims to significantly enhance veterinary services in southern Minnesota, western Wisconsin, and northern Iowa, providing a crucial resource for pet owners and referring veterinarians in the area.
