Nationwide Building Society has announced Mike Rogers will take over as its new chair this summer, replacing Kevin Parry. Rogers, who has chaired Experian for seven years, is set to join Nationwide's board on April 1 as an independent non-executive director and deputy chair. He will officially assume the position of chair on July 16, the day after Parry steps down at the close of business on July 15.
Parry, Nationwide's longest-serving director, joined the board in 2016 and became chairman in 2022. His transition marks a significant leadership change for the building society. Rogers, who previously chaired Aegon UK and served as an independent non-executive director at NatWest Group, shared his enthusiasm for the role, highlighting Nationwide's crucial position and member-focused ethos.
The appointment is subject to approval at Nationwide's Annual General Meeting on July 15. Rogers also reflected on his tenure at Experian, expressing pride in the firm's dynamic culture and its positioning for future growth. His extensive experience includes leadership roles at LV= Group and Admiral Group.
