Nashik Spends $990.83 Million to Revamp 18 Major Roads for Kumbh Mela

In preparation for the upcoming Kumbh Mela, the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has announced plans to develop 18 major roads in the city at a cost of $990.83 million. The project is expected to be completed by March 2027.
One of the key initiatives is the construction of a 10km concrete stretch along the Trimbak Road, from Khadkali Signal to Pimpalgaon Bahula, at a cost of $168 million. This section was previously slated for asphalt paving at $100 million, but the NMC has now revised the plan to use concrete instead.
Other major road projects include the Gangapur Road from Bardan Phata to Sula Chowk ($56.86 million), the Trimbak Road from Papaya Nursery to XLO Junction ($77.32 million) and from XLO Junction to Gareware Chowk ($71.99 million), the Wadner Gate to Vihitgaon (Lam Road) stretch ($71.98 million), and the Dindori Road from Nimani Chowk to the NMC limit ($59.56 million).
The Kumbh Mela, a major Hindu religious festival, is scheduled to be held in Nashik in 2027, with the flag hoisting ceremony on October 31, 2026, and three major Amrit Snans (holy baths) taking place between August and September 2027.
