Nano-X Faces Cash Crunch Despite Sales Jump
12 Sep
Summary
- Revenue increased 37% to $4.2 million, but cash dwindled.
- Company is cutting headcount and outsourcing chip manufacturing.
- First imaging network site began scanning patients and collecting payments.

Nano-X Imaging's second-quarter results revealed a 37% revenue increase, reaching $4.2 million for the period ending June 30, 2026. This growth was primarily fueled by the Nanox Health IT business consolidation and a 14% rise in its Teleradiology services. The AI and software division also contributed $1 million from new installations and pilot programs in the US and India.
Significantly, the company's first Nanox Imaging Network site in Philadelphia has commenced operations, scanning patients and collecting insurance payments. Management projects a fully utilized site could generate between $500,000 and $1 million annually, targeting segments with higher reimbursement rates.
Despite revenue gains, Nano-X incurred a $40.7 million impairment charge, negatively impacting its gross margin. The company's cash position significantly decreased, falling from $60 million at the end of 2025 to $31.4 million by June 30, 2026.
In response to the financial strain and to ensure operational continuity, Nano-X is implementing cost-saving measures. These include stripping down business operations, outsourcing chip manufacturing, and reducing headcount across North America and Europe. The company is also increasing its reliance on outside distributors to accelerate the deployment of its X-ray systems.
