Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao, a culinary establishment recognized for its Shanghainese cuisine and nine consecutive Michelin Guide recommendations since 2006, is expanding its presence by opening a new location this month at the American Dream in East Rutherford. This new venue will bring the brand's signature handcrafted soup dumplings and regional Chinese specialties to northern New Jersey.
The restaurant, which originated in Flushing, Queens, has previously opened another location in South Plainfield. Co-founder Michael Ma expressed excitement about introducing more communities to the tradition of Xiao Long Bao and the joy of shared meals. At the American Dream location, guests can observe chefs meticulously preparing soup dumplings in show kitchens, from mixing and rolling to hand-pleating and steaming.
The menu highlights the innovative Lucky Six Soup Dumplings, offering six distinct flavors with naturally colored wrappers, including pork, crab and pork, and chicken truffle variations. Beyond dumplings, the restaurant will serve a variety of noodle dishes, stir-fries, dim sum, vegetarian options, and house-made fruit teas, with breakfast items available throughout the day.
