HSRP Deadline Looms: 1.5 Million Vehicles Still Unregistered!
18 Nov
Summary
- Over 1.5 million vehicles in Nagpur remain unregistered for HSRP.
- The final deadline for HSRP registration is November 30.
- Penalties, including service disruptions, will start December 1.

With the final deadline of November 30 rapidly approaching, a substantial backlog of over 1.5 million vehicles in Nagpur has yet to be registered for High Security Registration Plates (HSRP). This marks the latest in a series of extensions granted by the state transport department, highlighting a persistent challenge in achieving full compliance.
Authorities have warned that strict enforcement will commence on December 1. Vehicles registered before April 1, 2019, that do not have HSRP installed by this date will face penalties, including a Rs 1,000 fine. Furthermore, essential services such as vehicle transfers, loan clearances, and license renewals may be halted for non-compliant vehicles.
While 85,750 vehicle owners await the installation of their newly registered plates, the transport office is also addressing issues faced by owners of older vehicles and those with outdated RC book data. Citizens are advised to utilize the online portal for Smart Card registration to ensure their mobile numbers are linked to vehicle data.
