This decision, announced by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, aims to remove restrictions on building heights, thereby unlocking substantial redevelopment potential in surrounding neighborhoods.

The Maharashtra government has secured agreement from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Airports Authority of India for the radar's shift. The state has committed to bearing the relocation costs and providing necessary alternative land, including land in Gorai free of charge.

Furthermore, a new 'housing for all' policy is in development, designed to boost redevelopment across Mumbai. This policy will offer economically weaker sections up to 300 square feet of free FSI and facilitate cost-free redevelopment for lower-income groups up to 600 square feet, making numerous long-pending projects viable.
