Summary
- 12 new AC local train services will operate on Mumbai's Main Line.

- Total AC local train services on Central Railway will now be 120.

Central Railway is set to enhance the daily commute for Mumbaikars by launching 12 additional air-conditioned (AC) local train services on the Main Line. This significant upgrade is scheduled to commence on Monday, June 29, 2026, responding to passenger demand for more comfortable travel options, especially during the summer months.
These 12 new services will replace existing non-AC local trains, bolstering the total count of AC local services operated by Central Railway to 120. This includes 92 services on the Main Line and 28 on the Harbour Line, further improving connectivity and passenger experience across the Mumbai suburban network.
The AC services will operate with AC rakes from Monday to Saturday. On Sundays and designated holidays, these trains will run with non-AC rakes. This adjustment ensures service availability while maintaining operational flexibility. The overall number of suburban services on weekdays across Mumbai Division will remain consistent at 1820.
