Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd., through its joint venture Marelli Motherson Automotive Lighting India Pvt Ltd (MMLI), has inaugurated a new advanced automotive lighting facility in Sanand, Gujarat. This facility is dedicated to manufacturing sophisticated exterior lighting systems.
MMLI, a 50-50 joint venture between Samvardhana Motherson and Marelli Europe, has established this plant as India's first capable of producing edge-to-edge, single-piece long lighting components. The plant localizes the slimmest headlamp module and enables the country's first single-piece, end-to-end Daytime Running Lights and Rear Combination Lamps.
Reflecting a commitment to sustainability, the new plant is equipped with rooftop solar power and plans to utilize additional green power through open access. The inauguration signifies a strategic move to strengthen Motherson's position in delivering advanced lighting solutions and brings global innovation to local manufacturing.
