Morgan, a manufacturer renowned for its unique British vehicles, has unveiled its most powerful car to date, the Supersport 400. This new model continues the brand's 117-year tradition of building eccentric cars from its Worcestershire factory.
The Supersport 400, priced at £112,965, delivers 402bhp from a BMW-sourced three-litre inline six-cylinder turbocharged engine, accelerating from 0-62 mph in just 3.6 seconds. It features a bonded aluminium CXV platform, an evolution of the 2019 CX platform, offering increased rigidity and faster steering.
True to Morgan's heritage, the Supersport 400 incorporates ash as a core structural element, a technique exclusive to the brand. This, combined with its long bonnet, bulbous headlights, and flowing wheel arches, evokes a distinct pre-war British sports car aesthetic, sharpened by modern vents and forged alloy wheels.
Inside, the cabin is snug, with minimal digital distractions, focusing on an analogue driving experience. Essential functions are controlled via five metal buttons, and while lacking modern conveniences like Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, it offers a unique connection to the machine, especially when paired with its Sennheiser audio system.
