MN8 Energy announced on June 10, 2026, the commercial operation of two utility-scale solar projects with a combined capacity of 260 MWac. These projects, Long Point in Texas and American Beech in North Carolina, are now fully operational under long-term power purchase agreements with Microsoft.
Long Point, a 120 MW project, is now delivering solar generation into the ERCOT Houston load zone, while the 140 MW American Beech project supplies power to PJM Interconnection. These crucial power markets are experiencing significant growth and infrastructure development.
"These projects deliver new solar capacity into two critical power markets and highlight MN8's role as a partner to Microsoft in meeting their sustainability goals," stated Moe Hanifi, Senior Vice President at MN8 Energy. The successful completion highlights MN8's expertise in originating, building, and operating solar solutions at the scale required by large enterprise customers.
Beyond clean energy, the Long Point and American Beech projects are expected to generate millions in tax payments for local governments, supporting schools and road maintenance. Each project also created over 300 construction jobs and nearly a dozen permanent positions, with local providers contracted for ongoing maintenance.
