Minute Maid Freezes Frozen Juice Sales
5 Feb
Summary
- Minute Maid parent company is halting frozen juice concentrate sales.
- Sales will cease by April in the U.S. and Canada.
- Shifting consumer preferences favor fresh juices over frozen.

Minute Maid, a brand instrumental in making orange juice a year-round morning beverage, is ceasing sales of its frozen juice concentrates in the U.S. and Canada by April. This decision by its parent company, The Coca-Cola Co., stems from shifting consumer preferences towards fresh juices.
The company announced the discontinuation of its frozen juice products, which include various orange, lemon, and limeades. These products, which required consumers to mix frozen concentrate with water, have been a staple since Vacuum Foods Corp. first shipped frozen orange juice nationwide in 1946.
Coca-Cola acquired Minute Maid in 1960, later introducing ready-to-drink refrigerated juices in 1973. Despite these innovations, the broader frozen juice category has seen a decline, with U.S. sales falling nearly 8% in the 52 weeks ending January 24, 2026. Additionally, rising prices and consumer concerns about added sugar have impacted sales.
