Micron Taiwan Bonus: 35-68 Months Salary Offered
11 Sep
Summary
- Micron offered Taiwan employees 35 to 68 months' salary.
- The package includes a NT$1.7 million minimum cash bonus.
- Unions seek 83 months' salary and profit-sharing.
Micron Technology has announced its largest-ever bonus package for employees in Taiwan, offering payouts equivalent to 35 to 68 months of salary for fiscal 2026. This offer includes a minimum cash floor of NT$1.7 million (US$53,809) per employee.
Despite this substantial offer, a labor dispute persists. Unions representing approximately two-thirds of Micron's 15,000 Taiwan workers are pushing for a bonus equivalent to 83 months' salary. They also demand an institutionalized profit-sharing system, seeking 15% of operating profit starting fiscal year 2027.
The company's fiscal Q3 2026 revenue reached US$41.46 billion, a 346% year-on-year increase. While Micron states the rewards reflect record profits, the unions argue that its incentive plan is less transparent and lucrative than those at Samsung and SK Hynix.
