AI Giant OpenAI Poaches Meta's India & SEA VP

She will be based in Singapore, reporting to Kiran Mani, OpenAI's Asia-Pacific managing director. Her responsibilities will encompass driving consumer growth, facilitating enterprise adoption and partnerships, and managing regulatory engagement and operations across Southeast Asia and Australia.
This appointment occurs shortly after Prabhjeet Singh joined OpenAI as its India head. OpenAI has been actively expanding its presence in the Asia Pacific, establishing offices in Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, Sydney, and Delhi within the last two years. Devanathan's departure from Meta comes amid increased scrutiny for the social media giant regarding online safety and content moderation issues.
Following Devanathan's exit, Meta's India managing director, Arun Srinivas, will now report directly to Benjamin Joe, Meta's Vice President for Asia-Pacific. Devanathan held various leadership roles at Meta since joining in 2016, including heading its Asia Pacific gaming business before her most recent vice president role.
