Effective September 28, 2026, Merchants & Marine Bank, a subsidiary of Merchants & Marine Bancorp, Inc., will officially change its legal name to TownBridge Bank. This rebranding aims to create a shared charter identity for the company's diverse Family of Brands.
Under the new structure, community banking brands such as Merchants & Marine Bank, Mississippi River Bank, and Farmers-Merchants Bank will operate as divisions of TownBridge Bank. Ancillary brands like Canvas Mortgage, CannaFirst Financial, and Voyager Lending will also be divisions of TownBridge Bank.
This name change does not indicate any sale, merger, or change in ownership or leadership. The company emphasizes that clients will experience no disruption, with existing account and routing numbers, checks, cards, and digital banking access remaining unchanged. The TownBridge name reflects a commitment to community banking, honoring hometowns and the connections local bankers build.
Clayton Legear, CEO, stated that TownBridge represents an evolution, strengthening the foundation for growth while preserving the core values of local service. The company's parent organization, Merchants & Marine Bancorp, Inc., will remain unchanged, though shareholders will be asked to approve aligning its name with the TownBridge identity at the 2027 Annual Meeting.
