Huynh, known as a local legend, has been working every day since 1989, sewing custom denim jeans for generations of loyal customers.
Dejour Jeans has attracted a huge cult following, with shoppers lining up to get their hands on the famously well-made jeans. Despite his incredible work ethic, Huynh says he has no plans to take a holiday anytime soon. "I will wait until customers are sick of me and then I will take a day off," he told local radio hosts.
Reflecting on his decades of nonstop work, Huynh estimates he has made millions of jeans. He spends six days a week in his retail shop on Sydney Road and uses the seventh day to design new styles and prepare stock for the week ahead. Even after long workdays, Huynh says he is too tired to go out and simply wants to relax at home. "I love my work. To me, a day off or not, I don't mind," he explained.
