Medway Council has revealed the first images of a proposed 80-bed care home. The facility, situated on the Innovation Park Medway site in Chatham, is set to house 11 adult social care units. This significant £44m project is designed to offer specialized care and support for the elderly.
The main three-storey building will include a 40-bed dementia nursing facility on the ground floor. The first floor will accommodate a 40-bed respite and discharge-to-assess unit, providing flexible care options. The site also encompasses seven one-bed and four two-bed self-contained units for individuals requiring additional support.
In addition to the residential facilities, the entire complex will feature shared gardens and courtyards. These communal outdoor spaces are intended to foster well-being and provide opportunities for residents to engage in activities. The council plans to operate the home once it is built.
