Spanish fashion retailer Mango has identified India as a highly promising market, making it a crucial component of its international fashion launch strategy. The brand, which entered India in 2001, has experienced substantial growth, further accelerated by a significant partnership with Myntra in 2017. This collaboration granted Myntra master franchise rights, enabling the expansion of Mango's presence across both online and offline retail channels.
Daniel López García, Mango's Chief Commercial Officer, stated that India is key to their global strategy, allowing them to deliver creativity simultaneously worldwide. He emphasized the positive performance and growth pace of the Indian business, attributing it to a strong product-market fit and consumer appreciation for Mango's value proposition. This success fuels their optimism about the Indian market.
The brand currently operates through 76 points of sale in India, including 42 exclusive brand outlets. Myntra's Chief of Strategic Partnerships, Venu Nair, highlighted plans to steadily expand exclusive outlets, focusing on larger store formats for an enhanced customer experience. Both online and offline sales contribute nearly equally to the brand's revenue in India.
Mango's strategy in India ensures that new collections, launched globally every three weeks, are quickly available to Indian consumers. India was among the first five markets to launch the Hailey Bieber Summer 2026 collection. Recent expansions include new categories such as Mango MNG for Teens and Mango fragrances, aimed at deepening market presence and engaging new consumer segments.
