This cost is considerably less than the amount provided to his predecessor, Erik ten Hag, following his dismissal in 2024. The club managed to reduce the initial maximum exposure of £16.7 million for Amorim's exit due to his subsequent appointment with AC Milan.
These financial adjustments come as Manchester United reported record revenues of £677.6 million for the 2025/26 fiscal year, an increase from the previous year. Despite this impressive revenue growth, the club posted a pre-tax loss of almost £47 million.
Revenue guidance for the upcoming year is projected between £740 million and £760 million, buoyed by the team's return to the Champions League. The club's wage bill also saw a decrease of £11.3 million, attributed to squad changes and headcount reductions.
