Mahindra's XEV 9e and BE 6 electric SUVs have marked a successful first year, selling over 30,000 units in seven months and generating more than ₹8,000 crore in revenue in H1 FY26. These "Electric Origin" models have become the primary vehicles for most owners, with 65% driven daily and over 1,000 vehicles exceeding 20,000 km. The SUVs have proven their capability in extreme Indian temperatures, from Leh's 4°C to the Thar Desert's 53°C.
Owners are demonstrating significant usage, with 70% driving over 1,000 km monthly and 10% surpassing 3,000 km. Nearly 60% of these SUVs deliver over 500 km of city range. Thirty percent of owners have completed 400+ km single-day trips, highlighting their long-distance viability.
The BE 6 has emerged as a cultural trend, featuring in unique collaborations like BGMI x BE 6 and the globally acclaimed Batman x BE 6 edition. Mahindra reports that 80% of buyers are new to the brand, indicating the success in attracting a diverse demographic and shifting perceptions of EVs in India.
