Maharashtra Voter List: 2 Crore Names Missing!

Maharashtra's recently published draft voter list for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) shows a substantial reduction of 2 crore voters compared to the previous electoral roll. This decrease represents a 21% drop in the total number of electors across the state.
The exclusion of these voters is attributed to their enumeration forms not being collected, with individuals categorized as Absent, Dead, Duplicate, or having Shifted (ASDD) their residence. Around 1.5 crore of the 2 crore voters removed have the chance to be reinstated.
Citizens are encouraged to review the draft list, available online and through various other channels, to confirm their registration status. The period for filing claims and objections to the draft roll is open until September 30. First-time voters who have attained the age of 18 before October 1 can also apply for inclusion during this month-long window.
Form 6 can be used for inclusion, Form 7 for deletion, and Form 8 for corrections to details like name or address. These forms can be submitted online or in person at designated electoral offices and through booth level officers.
