Lucknow's Green Corridor Expands: Phase 3 Begins
1 Feb
Summary
- Construction of phase 3 of Green Corridor is underway.
- A railway overbridge and road widening are planned.
- Affected farmers will receive land in Wellness City.

The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has initiated the construction of the third phase of the Green Corridor, a project spanning approximately 5 kilometers from Pipraghat to Shaheed Path. This development is set to ease traffic congestion between the Cantonment area and Ayodhya and Kanpur roads.
Key components of this phase include the construction of a 240-meter railway overbridge at Pipraghat, requiring a no-objection certificate from the Cantonment Board. Dilkusha Road will be widened from its current 9 meters to better manage future traffic volumes. A four-lane bridge will also be constructed from Pipraghat to G-20 Road.
Landfilling work is currently in progress along significant stretches, with completion before the monsoon being a priority. Following this, stone pitching will be implemented to stabilize the embankments. The LDA vice-chairperson has also reviewed the corridor's alignment near Ekana Cricket Stadium and Kisan Path. In a measure to address land acquisition impacts, farmers affected by the project will be allocated land free of cost in Wellness City, adhering to the LDA's land pooling policy.
