Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced the securing of an ultra-mega contract for a gas compression project, significantly expanding its hydrocarbon infrastructure business.
The contract, awarded to L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore, encompasses the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of gas compression plants for new onshore installations designed to process sour gas. Key components include gas inlet facilities, compression systems, and water handling systems.
Further supporting this initiative, L&T's power transmission and distribution business will execute two 230-kV extra-high-voltage substations. These substations will cater to the power requirements of the gas compression plants, showcasing L&T's integrated approach to large-scale projects.
This award represents a strategically important development, adding substantial gas compression capacity and utility infrastructure. L&T highlighted that the project will leverage its extensive experience in executing complex hydrocarbon facilities and enhance its capabilities in delivering integrated solutions for challenging sour-gas applications.
