Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has confirmed that an overwhelming majority, around 95%, of its West Asia operational sites are continuing business as usual despite the prevailing geopolitical situation. Deputy Managing Director & President Subramanian Sarma stated that out of 100 active sites, most are unaffected.
However, a small percentage of projects have faced suspension or disruption due to proximity to sensitive locations or customer advisories. L&T's immediate focus remains on ensuring the safety of its employees and assets, with daily assessments conducted by regional leadership teams.
The company has identified logistics and supply chain challenges as significant concerns. Disruptions in material movement, especially from China and Europe via shipping, have been noted over the past two weeks. Local sourcing within Saudi Arabia and GCC nations remains unaffected.
To mitigate these supply chain issues, L&T is exploring alternative routes, including Red Sea and Oman ports, with an aim to resolve them in the next two to three months, leveraging existing inventory. Customer engagement, invoicing, and banking operations continue without interruption, with payments proceeding on schedule.
