Derry City and Strabane District Council's planning committee has given the green light to proposals for almost 750 new homes in Londonderry. The approvals include a 480-home development on Upper Galliagh Road and a further 259 homes coupled with a new community centre on Springtown Road. These initiatives by Apex Housing Association are seen as a significant investment that will help meet the demand for housing in the North West region.
The Upper Galliagh Road site will feature approximately 340 houses and 140 apartments, alongside seven retail units, office blocks, allotments, and a multi-use games area. The Springtown Road development will also introduce a community centre and a children's play area, enhancing local amenities and infrastructure.
