On the other hand, Lionsgate, the studio behind hits like 'Ghosts' and 'Hunger Games,' reported a $46 million operating loss, an improvement from the $100.7 million loss in the same period last year. The company's revenue declined by 21.3% to $475.1 million, primarily due to a decrease in theatrical releases compared to the previous year.
To bolster its future growth, Lionsgate has made strategic moves, including acquiring the worldwide distribution rights to the next 'Rambo' movie and all future film and TV rights to the 'The Expendables' franchise. The company's CEO, Jon Feltheimer, expressed optimism about the upcoming quarters, stating that the studio has "readied a film slate primed to deliver strong growth over the next 18 months."
