Summary
- Company offers free gym access and fitness subsidies.
- Aims to combat labor shortage in the security sector.
- Initiative targets younger workers and improves employee health.

Juko, a security firm operating in Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara prefectures, has launched a unique recruitment drive. Under the slogan "Japan's most worker-friendly company for fitness lovers," the company is transforming its image and operations.
The firm faces a significant labor shortage, with a job-to-applicant ratio of 6.92 in December 2025. Its current workforce averages around 70 years old, leading to health issues and a need to turn down jobs. To address this, Juko invested approximately 1.5 million yen to equip a storage space with a training machine and dumbbells.
This new fitness facility is available to all employees, free of charge. Juko also introduced a "bodybuilder track" for hiring, offering subsidies for protein supplements and contest participation, alongside professional training lessons. The goal is to boost employee well-being, extend working lives, and project a more reassuring image to clients.
Through social media like TikTok, Juko is actively promoting its initiative, showcasing its new gym and inviting potential recruits. Founder Hiroyoshi Okuno hopes this multi-benefit project will energize the security industry, attract younger talent, and encourage local settlement.
