- Syros EV aims for affordability with potential BaaS financing.
- Sorento Hybrid marks Kia's entry into India's hybrid SUV market.

Kia India is gearing up for a significant expansion of its SUV offerings, with plans to introduce two new models in the coming months.
The first of these is the highly anticipated Syros EV, expected to become Kia's most affordable electric vehicle in the Indian market. Sources indicate a launch around July, just ahead of the festive season. This model is positioned to compete in the sub-4-meter segment against established rivals.
To enhance affordability, Kia is exploring financing options like Battery-as-a-Service, similar to its approach with the Carens Clavis EV. The Syros EV is anticipated to offer a driving range of up to 350 km with battery options of 42kWh or 49kWh.
Additionally, Kia will enter the hybrid SUV segment with the Sorento Hybrid later this year. Initially likely to be a full import, future hybrid models are planned for localization to improve cost-competitiveness.
These launches are part of Kia India's strategy to increase its market share to over 7% by 2030, complementing recent successes like the second-generation Seltos. The company has also expanded its sales and service network, including over 250 EV-ready workshops.
