Kia has officially announced US pricing for its compact EV3, with the electric SUV starting at $29,450 before destination charges. This price point lands well below the $35,000 target Kia had previously indicated.
The EV3 boasts an impressive all-electric range of up to 321 miles and is available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. It features an NACS port for compatibility with Tesla's Supercharger network. Utilizing a 350kW DC fast charger, the EV3 can charge from 10% to 80% in roughly 31 minutes.
This pricing makes the EV3 the most affordable electric car in Kia's US portfolio, arriving at a critical time for budget-conscious consumers. The availability of the EV3 offers a sub-$30,000 option, a rarity as other automakers have scaled back EV plans. Ford's upcoming 'Fathom' EV truck is also set to launch at $28,350 in early 2027.
Government incentives are also contributing to EV accessibility. As of July, California introduced a new rebate program offering $3,500 for new EVs and $1,500 for used EVs for first-time buyers.
