Kara Swisher Exits CNN Amid Warner Bros. Discovery Deal

Kara Swisher has announced her intention to depart from CNN, with her contract set to conclude on December 31. This decision follows a legal settlement that paves the way for Paramount's acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, CNN's parent company. Swisher expressed her strong opposition to the new ownership on her podcast.

She revealed she asked her agent to end her contract early, stating, "I just don't want to work" under the new management. Swisher has been critical of David Ellison, whose group is leading the takeover, and his father Larry Ellison, referring to them as "terrible media owners." A settlement was reached with California Attorney General Rob Bonta regarding the merger, which includes establishing an independent editorial board, a measure Swisher dismissed as "dingbat nonsense."
