Kamakhya Junction in Assam has undergone substantial infrastructure upgrades, preparing it for the introduction of Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat Express services. The Northeast Frontier Railway zone has successfully completed the electrification of both pit lines, significantly enhancing operational efficiency and readiness for these advanced trains. This development marks a key milestone in improving maintenance capabilities.
Further bolstering these upgrades, eight specialized pedestals have been constructed to facilitate the necessary maintenance of Pantograph (Panto) and Roof Mounted Package Unit (RMPU) systems on the new train sets. This strategic enhancement ensures that periodic servicing of the advanced rolling stock will be safer, quicker, and more effective for railway personnel.
