As of October 2025, the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) is making significant progress on its Kalyan Station Area Traffic Improvement Scheme (SATIS), a major infrastructure project aimed at decongesting the busy Kalyan railway station area.
The KDMC has intensified construction work on the project, with a particular focus on completing Flyover 'A' by the end of the year. This 1,125-meter flyover, spanning from Subhash Chowk to Bail Bazaar, is now 93% complete and is expected to be operational as a New Year gift to the residents of Kalyan.
To accelerate the progress, KDMC officials, including Commissioner Abhinav Goel, have been closely monitoring the construction work, even conducting night-time operations to minimize traffic disruption during the critical girder installation phase. The KDMC has also resolved most of the land acquisition and legal challenges that had previously delayed the project.

Once fully operational, the SATIS project, which has a total budget of Rs 602 crore, will transform the Kalyan station area into a modern, commuter-friendly hub, ensuring smooth traffic flow, enhanced safety, and long-term urban development for the next two decades.
