Kacholia's Bold Bets: 3 Companies Defy Odds
16 Oct
Summary
- Investor Ashish Kacholia revisits SG Finserve with a 2.34% stake.
- Stove Kraft sees a 316% surge in induction sales amid LPG fears.
- SME-listed Indo SMC scales revenue significantly post-IPO.
Investor Ashish Kacholia, known for his patient investment strategy, has re-established a 2.34% stake in SG Finserve as of September 2026. This non-banking lender, formerly Moongipa Securities, has seen its loan book expand by 98% in the past year, with revenues growing over 100% since FY23.
Kacholia also increased his holdings in Stove Kraft, a manufacturer of kitchen appliances. The company experienced a remarkable 316% rise in induction cooktop sales in the June 2026 quarter, contributing significantly to its record revenue of Rs 481 crore. This surge was partly attributed to fears of LPG shortages.
Furthermore, Indo SMC, an SME-listed manufacturer of electrical enclosures, has seen substantial growth since its January 2026 IPO. The company reported a 123% increase in sales for FY26. Kacholia has progressively increased his stake in the company.
Despite these growth stories, all three companies present potential risks. SG Finserve carries a significant debt load, Stove Kraft faces normalization of demand post-LPG fears, and Indo SMC grapples with negative operating cash flow. Investors are advised to monitor these developments closely.
