Colombian coffee brand Juan Valdez has initiated its expansion into Brazil with the opening of its inaugural store in Ribeirão Preto, within the state of São Paulo. This launch signifies the start of a comprehensive nationwide rollout aimed at introducing the brand to the vast Brazilian market.
The company operator, Procafecol, stated that this entry into Brazil is intended to forge a stronger link between local coffee enthusiasts and the coffee cultivated by over half a million Colombian farming families. Juan Valdez has ambitious plans to operate 300 outlets in Brazil by 2032, employing a sub-franchising strategy to accelerate its growth.
Prior to this Brazilian venture, Juan Valdez maintained a significant global presence with 653 coffee shops, including 373 in its home country of Colombia and 280 spread across international markets such as Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Qatar, Spain, and the United States. The brand also recently entered the Dominican Republic in 2024.
