Jio BlackRock Asset Management, a joint venture between Jio Financial Services and BlackRock, has successfully built an investor base of 1 million since its launch in May. A significant portion, nearly 18%, comprises first-time mutual fund investors.
The company is achieving remarkable penetration beyond major metropolitan areas, with 40% of its retail investors originating from B-30 cities. This figure notably exceeds the industry average of 28%, a feat attributed to its technology-driven strategy and commitment to investor education.
Currently, Jio BlackRock AMC oversees assets valued at over ₹13,700 crore. Equities constitute approximately 30% of this total, with the remaining 70% allocated to fixed income and cash instruments.
Looking ahead, the firm plans to introduce Specialised Investment Funds (SIFs) and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). It also aims to offer international investment exposure via GIFT City, leveraging BlackRock's expertise. The JioBlackRock Sector Rotation Fund's new fund offer is set to open on January 27, 2026, and close on February 9, 2026.
